Reviewer's name: Carrie B. Role: student Grade: 8 Book title: The Land Author: Mildred D. Taylor Category: historical fiction Summary: Paul Logan has always wanted land of his own. This story by Mildred D. Taylor shows how this half-black, half-white boy grows into a man, and how he gets the land that continues his legacy years after his death. You can read about that in the sequels, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry and Let the Circle be Unbroken. Personal response: I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, because you really learn to love the characters. Paw print rating: |
