Dear JA Families:
Last Tuesday, the Board held a meeting with our Block Schedule Research Committee. The purpose of this Committee, made up of parent volunteers, teachers and a Board representative, is to provide research to the Board that can be used in evaluating different block schedules for use in our junior high.
The Committee’s work is not yet complete and the Board does not want to make a hasty decision regarding the junior high’s ultimate schedule. Therefore, the junior high will remain on the A/B (Black/Gold) schedule for the school year 2006-07. This will allow our Committee appropriate time to finish their research and present findings to the Board. It will also allow appropriate parent meetings to discuss all aspects of block scheduling.
Part of the research that the Committee will be doing is a parent survey. It is extremely important that a large percentage of our parents complete the survey, so please look for it in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, your junior/senior high school questions can be most effectively answered by attending the Info Expo this Wednesday, November 30, at 6pm. Board, administration & teachers will all be there to answer any questions you have. This is designed to allow you time to talk to people one-on-one, so get your information from the “source”! Don’t miss it!
See you there –
