Expansion of Community Cares programs

For several years, the Community Cares program has helped families during COVID and around the holidays with the Holiday Care Packages. While we recognize that the holidays can be a tough time for families, we also know that the cost of living in Colorado has increased, making the day-to-day expenses more challenging. This year we expanded the Community Cares Program to offer assistance to families in need at any point in the year. Families that are in need of assistance with bills/necessities, such as groceries, a bill, or gas, can complete the Google form of their need and they are added anonymously to a database that anyone can access to sign up to assist them. The sign up is very similar to the Holiday Care Package sign up process from last year (which will be a separate initiative and will start in November). Please note that assistance is not guaranteed- we will do our best to connect families to resources outside of our community, as well as offer assistance through donations via the need database. So far this school year we have already had $766 worth of donations for families in immediate need. Thank you, donors! If your family is experiencing hardship and could use some assistance, please complete this form and our Community Engagement Coordinator will reach out to determine needs and offer resources. If you are interested in donating to help a JA/Summit family in need, please check out this database and follow the instructions to sign up and donate. If you have any questions, please contact Tiffany Blakley, CEC, at tblakley@jajags.com. As always, we are impressed with the generosity of our community.
