Open Enrollment - December 2, 2025 - January 9, 2026 - This is for families not currently enrolled at JA, or if you have an incoming preschool or kindergarten student for the 2026-2027 school year, you must submit an application. Applications must be submitted in EnrollJeffco beginning December 2. Please share this information with neighbors, family and friends that may be interested in attending JA. You do not need to submit an application for students currently attending JA. 6th grade students will automatically be enrolled at JA Secondary.
Current families have received an email from Jefferson County Schools to login to EnrollJeffco and confirm that they are returning to JA or have the option to apply to other schools. If you have not completed this process, you will receive another email from the district in January when we return from the holiday break. Please respond to that email. Along with confirming your enrollment, you will also need to review/revise your personal information (address, phone numbers, etc.). All students will be automatically enrolled into JA next year, unless we are notified by the family or another school that the student is transferring.
After School Clubs - These clubs DO NOT meet this next week: Dungeons & Dragons, Hip Hop, Homework Club and Talk to the Camera.
Health Room - We’re seeing an increase in illnesses in the school. Please help keep our students and staff healthy by keeping your child home if they have any of the following symptoms: fever, vomiting, persistent cough or diarrhea. If you’re unsure whether your child should stay home, please email Danielle Harding at dharing@jajags.com with any questions.

Lost & Found - Please check both areas for students’ belongings. All unclaimed items will be donated during the holiday break.

Friday, December 19 - Early dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is not served.
Holiday break- December 22 - January 5. Students return on Tuesday, January 6.

JA Secondary School - Youth Boys and Girls Basketball Camp
Our JA high school boys and girls basketball teams will be hosting a one-day youth boys and girls basketball camp over winter break!
Who: Boys & Girls, 2nd–8th grade
When: Monday, December 29th, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Where: JA Secondary - 11251 Reed Way
Cost: $45 per camper

This is a great opportunity for your child to learn new skills, have fun, and work with our high school players and coaches!
JA Boys and Girls Varsity Playing at Ball Arena on February 9th: The boys and girls varsity basketball teams will be playing The Academy at Ball Arena on February 9th. The games will be a doubleheader with the girls game starting around 1:00 PM, followed by the boys game. As part of this event, you’ll also get to see the Denver Nuggets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers that same night! Ticket Details:
Purchasing a ticket gives you access to both the high school games and the Nuggets game.
If you can’t attend the high school games, you can still use the ticket for the Nuggets game.
Tickets must be purchased in advance — no tickets will be sold the day of the game.

Outdoor Lab Fundraiser - Mark your calendars! The class of 2033 will be kicking off their Little Caesars® Pizza Kit Fundraiser Monday, December 15th. Kids will love the pizza, parents will love the convenience, and every order is delicious and helps support the class of 2033 (5th graders) for Outdoor Lab! Hospitality - We are still looking for some items to help thank our JA staff for all their hard work on Wednesday, December 17th. Please SIGN UP to donate and help us make this a memorable event for all our educators and staff. Drop off non refrigerated items Monday (Dec 15th) or Tuesday (Dec 16th). Anything that needs to be kept warm please have dropped off by or before 10am at the latest on Wednesday morning. Let’s come together to spread some holiday cheer!
