Principal Message - Another great week at JAE. I am so pleased with the interactions I see everyday within the building. Every teacher is at their door in the morning greeting every student. Students walk into the class and there are procedures on the board detailing what they should and can be doing as they enter. As my leadership team visits classrooms everyday, we observe very engaging lessons, and student participation and interactions are at an all-time high.
If you are riding your bike or walking to school and use the crosswalk on 99th, I ask that you wait for others near you before crossing at the crosswalk so we can keep traffic flowing as much as possible. Also, if you are riding your bike, do not ride through the traffic as this is unsafe. Thank you for your patience in the driveline as we get kids safely into the building and back into your cars.
Late Start - Wednesday, September 2nd. School starts at 10:00 a.m.

Breakfast and Lunches - SLA will provide breakfast and lunch everyday a student will be at school, including late start and early release days. On Monday Aug 31, and on Wednesday Sept 1st, breakfast will be provided in the cafeteria should your child want breakfast.
Free Lunch - Lunches are free to all students. It is important that families apply for Free/Reduced (soon to be called Student Benefits Application) lunches if they think they qualify. Those that qualify will be exempt from paying school fees. For more information or to apply, use this link charterchoice.strataapps.com. If your child requires a modification to their meals, please contact our health office and they will assist in completion of the meal modification form. Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing and the development of modified menus.
Assessment Day (K-6) - Monday, August 31st. If you signed up for the AM time frame on Monday we start at 8am and pick-up is at 11am.
Band- 4th-6th grade students.
August 29- 4th Grade Band Camp (and ALL other 1st year band students):
Saturday, August 29th: 10:00 - 3:00 pm (showcase at 3:30 pm)
