SCHOOL NEWS
As a reminder, once students are dropped off on campus in the mornings, they will not be allowed to leave campus prior to the start of school (such as leaving to walk to 7-Eleven). Parents please communicate the importance of this policy with your students for their safety and the security of all of our students and staff. If your child wants to purchase something from 7-Eleven please be sure to stop with them prior to dropping them off.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD IS A LATE START
Tomorrow is the first late start of the year. Please refer to our Family Calendar for the dates of all the late starts for the year. On all the late start days, the building will open at 9:30 am, so please be mindful of the schedule for the day. JA Secondary Late Start Schedule
PARKING PASSES
Parking passes are now available. Students must have a current parking pass displayed easily visible on their back windshield to be able to park in the school parking lot. Failure to have a current pass could result in a fine. Once the fee and parking form are completed, students can pick up their pass in the front office.
DROP OFF AND PICK UP REMINDERS
Please be mindful that MKS across the street has asked that we do not drop off or pick up our students in their parking lot. It is not a public lot, that is their private business and can choose to take further steps if they feel it is necessary. Please be respectful of their property.
CLASS OF 2026 PARENTS AND STUDENTS
Save the date for your first senior/parent meeting on Thursday, September 18, at 6:00 pm in the Commons. We will go over the details for Graduation and a representative from Jostens will share information on ordering regalia, announcements and class rings. All seniors and at least one parent are expected to attend.
CANVAS PARENT ACCOUNTS
Canvas parent/guardian accounts for new students to JA Secondary are now active. If you have another student at JA and already have a Canvas account with them, your new student should appear in your Canvas observer account, provided the email in Infinite Campus matches.
If you are setting up a new account, go to the Canvas for Parents page on our website for help. You will need to set your password for the initial login by following the steps on this page.
JA BOOSTERS MEETING
The next Boosters meeting is coming up on Monday, September 8th in the Secondary Library, 6:00 to 7:00pm. Also, don’t forget to pay your JA Boosters dues for the 2025/26 school year! Your contribution helps support student clubs, athletics, staff appreciation, and so much more! https://my.cheddarup.com/c/boosters-annual-membership
Thank you for supporting our students and school community!
PICTURE RETAKES
Did your student miss picture day? Don’t fret, retakes will happen on Thursday, September 18th in the morning. If your student still needs their picture taken, please be sure they are present on September 18th!
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY CONNECTION SURVEY
Please take a moment to complete this year’s Family and Community Connection Survey: Family and Community Connection Survey. This quick survey helps us learn more about your interests, availability for volunteer opportunities, family-owned businesses, and any potential needs. Our Community Engagement Specialist, Tiffany Flores, will follow up if needed and help connect you with resources or opportunities based on your responses.

TRACK UPDATE
We are officially in Phase IV of our track improvements. As you may have seen, the construction area is very busy and we couldn’t be more excited. Currently, work is being started on various aspects of the project, including the grandstands area. We expect this work to continue through the next month. Due to this, the west side of the school grounds, including the field, is closed. All foot traffic along the west side of the building is prohibited, other than the accessible ramp located on the northwest side of the school.
Sporting Event Passes and Tickets - PURCHASE TICKETS HERE
Student digital season passes will be offered this year in place of the activity pass. Student passes will be $20 and will need to be purchased each season. Season passes will only work for regular season home games, not away games, nor home playoff games.
Punch passes will be sold this year instead of family passes. The following is a breakdown of the savings you will receive by buying the punch passes. Punch passes will transfer from season to season for the 25/26 school year. Any punches not used at the end of the school year will not be refunded or transferred to the next school year. Punch passes can be shared with friends and family. Punch passes are good for all regular-season home games.
10 Punch Pass - $67.50
Save $0.25 per ticket/$2.50 total
20 Punch Pass - $130
Save $0.50 per ticket/$10 total
40 Punch Pass - $250

Digital tickets will be required for entry to all home volleyball and soccer (on our turf field) games. Individual tickets can be purchased for students/seniors for $5 and adults for $7.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We need volunteers to help us run all of our home games. Volunteering at any of our athletic events grants free admission into that evening's games. Please contact Mrs. Chichirico in the Athletics office for more information.
