Why Choose a Charter School?

Jefferson Academy is a public charter school located in the Jeffco Public School district. Our families are ‘charter by choice’, pay no tuition, and our schools have the same oversight procedures as traditional public schools. You can read more charter school facts on the Colorado League of Charter Schools’ (CLCS) website.

Started by parents in 1994, Jefferson Academy is committed to helping students reach their highest academic and character potential. We believe that operating as a charter school allows us to be more innovative while still being held accountable for student achievement.

With over 136,000 students currently enrolled in charter schools, there are more students in public charter schools in Colorado than any other school district in the state.

If you are a current charter family or recent graduate, you can become more involved in charter advocacy by becoming part of the ACT Advocacy Network. JOIN NOW or read more on the CLCS website.
