1. Evergreen High School

The Board extends its heartfelt condolences to our Evergreen families affected by the recent violence. Jefferson County schools are to be bastions of safety and learning, so we applaud the courage of Jeffco students, staff, and administration who together continue that high purpose. We appreciate the swift crisis response to Evergreen H.S., and we also acknowledge that physical and emotional healing is not swift, but lasting and ongoing. Rest assured that JA Charter Schools perpetually evaluate policies and procedures that keep our kids safe at school. 

2. New Committee Chairs 

We are excited to announce the new JACS Board Committee chairpersons for this school year, each bringing fresh ideas and a strong commitment to supporting our students, staff, and school community. These dedicated individuals will be leading key areas of our school, ensuring a thriving environment.

3. SAC Survey Feedback Update

Last spring, the School Accountability Committee (SAC) collected community feedback in our annual community survey. Your input on strengths, challenges, and areas for growth has been extremely helpful. Based on these results, our principals are now in the process of setting campus-specific goals that reflect what we heard from students, parents, staff, and other community members. These goals are tailored for each campus to address priority areas raised in the survey, including academic achievement, student support, school culture, facilities and communication. Our aim is to ensure improvements are both meaningful and measurable. We deeply value your feedback and the trust you place in our process. Your voices guide our decisions, and the board appreciates the ongoing opportunity to improve and better serve our community.

4. Data Presentations and Testing Score Reviews

The Board received performance reviews from all five principals this month, including an analysis of testing scores and strategic responses. Each school leader presented a clear plan to build on their campus' strengths and support student growth. These plans included tangible steps such as updating curriculum where necessary, student-focused interventions, and ideas for how we can better equip teachers with the resources they need to be effective in the classroom. Collectively, all JACS campuses continue to make great strides in academic performance, and this proactive, data-informed approach gives the Board great confidence in the year ahead.

5. Shout-out Your JA/Summit Community! 

There are so many amazing things happening at our campuses—with students, families, and staff! We want to celebrate them as a community. Our wonderful community engagement specialist, Tiffany Flores, has created a Google Form where you can submit shout-outs for: 

  • Staff, students, parents, or organizations

  • Events, games, milestones, or achievements

  • Exciting ideas to share with our community

You get to decide how your shout-out is shared—directly with the person/people mentioned, or celebrated with the whole JA & Summit community! We especially encourage cross-campus shout-outs to highlight achievements and kindness across all JA & Summit locations.
